Tristan Harris gave an interesting TED talk on how improvements in technology can prevent us from distraction.  His main point is that we need a choice in how much time we spend using our technology.  Right now we have the option to totally unplug and go “off the grid” causing us to potentially miss out on information we need and want.  Our other option is to be completely plugged in and waste time with unnecessary distraction.

He mentions the phenomenon of self interruption and explains the more we are interrupted the more we self interrupt.  He suggests we demand technology that values our time.  He says we can shift from “time spent, to a world driven by time well spent.”
